Letitia Dean returned to EastEnders as Sharon Watts in March 2022 with a dramatic weight loss transformation, all thanks to her healthy diet.

Letitia Dean returned to the small screens on 23 March as OG character Sharon Watts looking a lot different to what viewers were used to.

The 54-year-old was praised on social media for her “radiant and gorgeous” transformation after shedding two stones.

Three months later, viewers are still obsessing over her new look: “I am going to say it every damn episode because LETITIA DEAN LOOKS ABSOLUTELY SENSATIONAL”, one wrote on Twitter.

Dean dropped the weight in a reported four months, sacrificing junk food for a balanced diet consisting of mostly vegetables and chicken.

Letitia Dean attempted fad diets for weight loss

The Eastenders actress has seen her weight fluctuate during her 43-year career. She admitted that she had been mocked for weight, with many telling her she was “too fat”.

“I had quite a lot of horrible things said about me. ‘The other actors complain they can’t fit on the same set with her,’” Dean revealed.

Her confidence took a hit as a result of criticism, prompting her to try the cabbage soup, the Atkins, and the ” really disgusting eggs-only diet”.

Fortunately, Dean has opted for a healthy approach this time and dropped two stones from 10st 4lbs to 8st 3lbs – four dress sizes.

Meals consisting of carbs, protein and vegetables were her ticket to success, including “pitta bread with a grilled skinless chicken breast, and lots of greens.”
